Day 46: Adaptive Training and the End of Term Rush

A Restful Prelude and a Sensible Base Run After a much-needed rest day, the training plan finally adjusted to my erratic sleep patterns. Today began with a sensible 35-minute base run—a gentle reminder that sometimes progress is measured in small, deliberate steps rather than quantum leaps. My Garmin Forerunner did its usual magic, adapting the plan on the fly by increasing or decreasing the planned times based on my needs. It cycles through different types of runs—threshold, base, tempo, recovery, long runs, and even the occasional anaerobic session—always mindful of my stress levels and recovery needs. There are moments when it almost seems to have a mischievous personality, occasionally hinting at a VO2 max session as if to test whether I truly believed I could defy the laws of human frailty.
